False Bay Crystalline Chardonnay is a South African white wine that beautifully embodies the fresh, vibrant character of the Western Cape. Crafted with precision, this Chardonnay delivers an alluring balance of crisp acidity and subtle fruit notes, creating a smooth and approachable profile. With aromas of green apple, lemon zest, and a touch of stone fruit, this wine captures the essence of a coastal breeze and sun-drenched vineyards.

On the palate, False Bay Crystalline Chardonnay continues to impress with its refreshing minerality, layered with peach, citrus, and hints of tropical fruit, leading into a clean, crisp finish that lingers with elegance. The wine is lightly oaked, adding a gentle roundness without overpowering the fresh fruit flavors, offering a bright, clean finish that makes it an ideal choice for those who prefer a more delicate style of Chardonnay.

Perfect for a variety of occasions, this Chardonnay pairs effortlessly with grilled fish, crab cakes, or creamy pasta dishes. Whether you’re enjoying a glass on a sunny afternoon or sharing it with friends over a delicious seafood platter, its refreshing acidity and bright citrus character make it a versatile and crowd-pleasing choice. A standout wine that offers both elegance and approachability, it’s an excellent addition to any wine collection.

Production

The grapes for False Bay Crystalline Chardonnay stem primarily from a single vineyard in Stellenbosch located next door to one of the region’s most lauded proponents of this noble cultivar. Balanced grapes are hand harvested, fermented spontaneously with wild yeast in stainless steel tanks and then left on lees for a minimum of six months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Wild yeast fermentation, low yields and naturally balanced grapes inform this ripe unoaked textural Chardonnay. Extended time on the lees adds nutty and toasty notes. Intense yet delicate right through to the finish.
