La Chapelle de Marin is named after the Saint Nicolas Chapel, which sits on Le Pont d’Avignon, spanning the river Rhône. The chapel, dedicated to the patron saint of mariners, was a regular meeting point for Rhône boatmen.
This is a stylish Côtes du Rhône made from Grenache and Syrah grown in the heart of the southern Rhône valley on sandy, pebbly terroir. This cuvée has been specially elaborated to offer a well-flavoured wine brimming with fruit that is underpinned with a fleshy, layered texture and supple, smooth finish.
Production
Hand-picked bunches are carefully destemmed and vinified using traditional ‘minimal intervention’ techniques. This wine is made without the use of oak to retain the pure fresh fruit character.
Tasting Notes
Attractive, juicy, bramble fruit and floral aromas, the palate is up-front and fresh with warm spice and real depth. Lovely with BBQs; grilled meats, halloumi and vegetables. Herby sausages, pasta with Mediterranean vegetables.
